Interview with Silviya Marinova, director - EGT Colombia, for Games Magazine
- What were your impressions of ICE London 2019 and which of them attracted the most the visitors from Colombia?
ICE London 2019 was for us the most successful show, full of debuts – slot, multiplayer, interactive, that made a lasting impression also to the visitors from Colombia. The G 55 VIP Curved cabinet of the General series was commented the most by my guests together with the General and Power multigames with their numerous new features and HD beautiful graphics. The S32 55 terminal of EGT Multiplayer also impressed with its spacious monitor and diversity of games. We also discussed on the EGT Interactive games that are so well accepted in the country, as well as the Spider casino management system. In general my schedule was full of fruitful meetings that resulted in several contracts to be executed very soon.
- What products you will be exhibiting at FADJA 2019?
FADJA is one of the most important shows for the region and we are looking forward to taking part in it again. This year EGT has prepared a special exposition, combining all its latest product developments – the new General slot cabinets, several jackpot systems – the 4-level progressive Dragon’s Turn and Cai Shen Kingdom, and some of its best gaming machines, like the bestselling P-24/24 Up and P-27/27 St Slim models, the Premier Curved cabinets and the automated Premier R6 roulette of EGT Multiplayer. A highlight at our booth will also be the portfolio of EGT Interactive, as we have become one of the first licensed suppliers for online gaming content in the country.
- What is your vision about the Colombian market? How do you think the new regulations for the online gaming have changed the market?
Undoubtedly the gaming market in Colombia is among the largest and fastest growing in the region. During the last two and a half years the operators were mainly concentrated in offering higher level of services, renewing their gaming equipment, improving their patrons’ experience via casino management systems (most of them already use the players’ tracking feature), etc.
The legalization of online gaming in the country was long-expected from both operators and suppliers and further boosted the sport betting and casino gaming market. We had a strong local start with EGT Interactive’s portfolio, inking contracts with several major key participants in the sector.
- What are your most successful products?
The P-24/24 Up and P-27/27 St and St Slim models, accompanied by the wide Collection series range of multigame mixes, are our local bestsellers for their catchy design and high performance. However, as I mentioned, at the ICE show in London earlier this year, we presented the next star generation of EGT cabinets – the General series, so we will also be aiming at turning them in the next local product hit of EGT.
- What are the advantages of buying EGT products when compared to the competition?
While entering the Colombian market two years ago, we were already established on a global scale, so our only intention was to prove to the local customers that we are also trustworthy in their country. We succeeded thanks to our products’ advantages and the loyal partnership we have established with most of the operators, based on the fast customer support we offer, the products’ performance analyses, the gaming libraries renewal that we provide and many additional services. This is how nowadays we have become one of the leading suppliers in Colombia.
- How are your operations in Colombia evolving?
EGT’s office in Colombia has achieved remarkable results, having installed machines in over 160 casinos across the country. The local market is of strategic importance for the company and is one of the largest in Latin America. Apart from the machine sales, we offer high-level technical support to our customers and have established service teams in 5 major cities in the country.
- What are the main challenges for you in Colombia?
Currently the national regulator Coljuegos is working towards restricting the illegally operated slot machines till such are no longer functioning, so the conditions for all legal operators should improve to a large extend soon, leading to a stable and flourishing local gaming industry.
- What are the main demands of your customers in the country?
Our main customers’ expectations are related to our products – their performance, quality and longevity after the installation. This is why we implemented the concept for the multigame libraries that was truly appreciated by the local operators, as each mix includes vast diversity of games that meet all players’ requirements and tastes.
- What are the company's goals for 2019?
We ended 2018, reaching results beyond expectations and entered 2019 with even more ambitious plans – to establish new partnerships with more local operators and to keep the position of a preferred supplier we have already achieved. To present our products so far from Bulgaria, where they have been developed, make us feel proud and is a pleasure for us, especially now, when we acknowledge the 17th anniversary since our brand has been created.
